I have lungs and I am not afraid to use them

We saw the kids for about one minute yesterday at the Blue Crab Festival. Just enough time for one picture of an unhappy girl. They were leaving as we were arriving. I know a lot of work goes into putting the festival on each year and the proceeds go to good causes but I do wish they would remember the garbage cans need to be emptied more frequently. Old crab shells and 98 degree heat don't mix well. Each year I am reminded of this. Evidently Livi didn't like it either. You tell them baby. Posted by Picasa

creepy crawlies beware

Ok. Go to http://www.dyson.com and watch the flash intro to see why I am vacuuming my mattress. It's not because I am obsessive compulsive, I wish, but no, I am a bona fided slob, however this is creeping me out. Combine the video with other facts that I've gathered like a typical bed mattress may contain 100,000 to 10 million mites. Ten percent of the weight of a two year old pillow is composed of dead mites and their droppings. Our mattress is at least 15 years old. No wonder I can't breathe. Now I am obsessing! I must go vacuum some more. Sic 'em Animal.

Ebony and Ivory

Anyone know what kind of birds these are? One seemed to have only one leg, or at least I never saw the other leg and the white one had an unusual plume on its head. They were hanging together like best buds near the entrance of Melrose Bay. It's the water fowl version of Lady and the Tramp and Tramp narrowly escaped a gator attack. Or? Posted by Picasa

Happy Muthers Day

We visited with J&L and Alivia for a few this morning. Actually my excuse for the visit was to let the Animal loose in their house ,although I think it was pretty obvious that it was just another excuse to see that baby! I told Leaa it was her muther's day gift from me and she was good with that -which is neat. I am glad we have that kind of relationship.

BTW- The Animal is amazing. The first time I used it, I vaccumed a rug that I thought was relatively clean, because I had vacuumed it last week with my old Hoover, but the Animal's canister was immediately filled with god awful stuff. It might make me a merry maid for more than just one day.

my mouse

blobber

Greetings weblings. It's been almost two weeks since I've posted here. There is a good reason for this. I have been working my fingers to nubs trying to finish our district's new site and the thought of touching a computer after work has been repulsive although I did work on someone's site two nights this week. Such hours make me a fat computer blob . I am giving new meaning to blobber. The new site launches on Monday. I still haven't proofed enough but so be it. uncle.

I experienced grandparent nirvana this afternoon. My goodness that is a sweet baby! We cuddled and communed for an hour or so before she started to get tired and fussy -at which point I handed her off to JC to swaddle and sway. I am impressed with JC and LC's ability to do that. My attempts at swaddling have been dismal. To JC and LC - in several months you will look back on this time and think...We survived it. And as my ol gran pappy would have said "that what don't kill you makes you stronger." It will get easier ( until she turns into a teenager) just kidding Care Bear. You are a joy.

KT and B'dawg we miss you. Don't know if we can wait until July to see you again.

Carl bought me a new Animal today. It sucks for real. And its purple and I can't believe he paid THAT for it. I'll be a merry maid for a day at least. After that I'll go back to grumpy women vacuuming.
